04 drug peddlers arrested in Kulgam and Bandipora | KNO

Srinagar, January 07 (KNO) : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs, Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested four drug peddlers in Kulgam and Bandipora districts and recovered contraband substances from their possession. In Kulgam, a police party of Police Post Jawahar Tunnel laid a naka at Jawahar Tunnel. During naka checking a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK03D-0150 was intercepted. On checking 11 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of Amandeep Singh resident of Ramewala Punjab and Sitfan Singh resident of Fathipora Jhalander Punjab. Kulgam police has registered a case in this regard and investigation was taken up. Meanwhile, Bandipora police has arrested two drug peddlers identified as Abdul Hamid Khan resident of Arin Bandipora and Khurshid Ahmad Lone resident of Mirpora Bandipora during a naka checking near Shokbaba Fisheries Farm in the jurisdiction of Police Post Sumlar. 590 grams of cannabis was recovered from their possession. Bandipora police has registered a case FIR number 05/2018 under section 8/20 NDPS Act and investigation was taken up.(KNO)
